Hello, this is Dr. Randy Short and as a internationally known, speaker, Human Rights Defender-Advocate, humorist, political commentator I am asked to travel and participate in important events. I have been asked by the surviving children of the East Saint Louis genocide to help commemorate the mass murder of as many as 3,000+ African Americans in the largest racial pogrom in American History between May 29th 1917 and July 3rd, 1917. The story remains untold, and I along with other activists are gathering to commemorate this crime against our people and celebrate the resiliance of those that escaped the massacre. In 2014, I made the film Dred Scott Nation in St. Louis, and I promised Mrs. Azima Katherine Kennedy Holt, whose grandmother died in the Mississippi River July 1917, that I would help bring out the truth of how Blacks have suffered in the Saint Louis area for centuries. I am working with dedicated activists who are part of the movements in Ferguson and the Midwest. In addition to my speaking at the event, I am part of a planning committee that aims to make July 2nd and July 3rd an alternative day of celebration of the resiliance of Black people. Help a brother who is not in it for riches to be a brother in solidarity. Thank you, and feel free to contact me. I do respond to questions and
