Mobile home-gift of life for Tracey

Mobile home the gift of life for Tracey.

It's amazing how some people, despite their own enormous challenges find it in themselves to be a constant positive influence on those surrounding them. Tracey Thomson typifies this type of amazing individual.

For the last 30 years Tracey has suffered chronic kidney failure. Despite 2 life threatening kidney transplants, decades of dialysis, needles, sickness and physical suffering Tracey continues to be amazingly unselfish and positive. An inspiring faith filled woman, Tracey and her husband Peter have set aside their physical and financial hardship to support their miracle daughter Sarah and be an inspiration to their friends and family. Their unselfishness and the cost of Tracey's treatment has led to some significant financial challenges and the time has come to support Tracey and Peter to give them some comfort and security, something they haven't had for more than a decade.

After two failed kidney transplants Tracey now faces the daily need to put her body through the dialysis process. Installing a dialysis machine has a number of complications with most landlords uncomfortable with the custom plumbing required to install the machine. Tracey and Peter’s financial position has prevented them from buying their own home, with a mobile van or motorhome this gives them the best option for permanent installation of the dialysis machine and to be their permanent residence. The new dialysis unit required for Tracey’s ongoing treatment is now available, the finances to purchase a new van is what is needed right now.

The purchase of a new van would be a huge breakthrough for Tracey and Peter for a number of reasons.
• It allows for the permanent custom fixing of the dialysis unit in their own property.
• It gives Tracey the flexibility to dialysis whenever she needs to allowing for travel. This eliminates the need to book hospitals which can be an extremely difficult process.
• It will provide Tracey and Peter with permanent housing, they will own.
• It will allow Tracey to travel and continue to perform charity work, guest speaking events, plus visit friends and family which has been a significant challenge given her condition.
• It will provide and new quality of life.
As you can see it will provide Tracey and Peter security, comfort and flexibility that they haven't known for over a decade. To fund this project it is estimated we will need to raise $100,000 to purchase and custom fit the van to suit. Your donation to this great cause would be great appreciated.

Tracey's Story

Tracey has suffered CHRONIC kidney failure for over 30 years.

Tracey was just a young girl aged only 21, newly wed and pregnant with their first child the future was looking exciting and promising, until life took a horrible twist in tragic events. Tracey unfortunately miscarried the pregnancy but soon became pregnant again. This next pregnancy soon turned into a life threatening situation for mother and baby, as Tracey's body went into kidney failure and at just 25 weeks pregnant she gave premature birth to a baby girl "Samantha", who sadly only lived for 2 1/2 days. This was devastating for Tracey and her husband! Little did they know or expect that the next 30 years of her life would be a battle of life threatening operations and sickness, long stays in hospitals, painful needles connected to dialysis machine for hours, 2 life threatening transplant attempts, a baby girl born with severe reflux and diagnosed with Cerebral palsy. On top of all this the burden of huge medical and financial bills has been a struggle to make ends meet.

Tracey has suffered more than her share of pain and loss but none of it has defeated her. She has had more painful losses over the past 30 years than anyone I personally know, and yet she remains hopeful, courageous and optimistic! It's time to give them the breakthrough that they deserve.
