My name is Samantha Capps.
In 2013, my father John Capps passed away suddenly.
I am currently recovering from illness and am disabled and unable to work. In my spare time, I am working on cataloging my father's books in order to open a small library displaying the collection he amassed during his lifetime.
We already have a space for the books in Warrenton, NC, but we need to build shelves.
This fundraiser serves two purposes: first, 50% of what we raise goes directly to the library. The money will firstly be used to build shelves for the books, secondly to apply for official nonprofit status, and any extra money will go toward compensation for me as I work on this project and deal with my health issues. Second, the other 50% of what we raise goes directly to The Trevor Project , which provides crisis and suicide prevention to LGBTQ youth.
Anyone who donates gets automatic membership to the library, meaning you can check books out once they are organized!
We hope to eventually use the library as a starting point for literacy work in Warren County, but for now we need to get the books on the shelves!
