Washtenaw Water Drive for Flint

WASHTENAW COUNTY – A coalition of community partners is hosting a countywide bottled water drive for Flint residents. The Washtenaw Water Drive Coalition is comprised of:
Ann Arbor Democrats, Ann Arbor Mayor Chris Taylor, Ann Arbor Public Schools, City of Milan, City of Ypsilanti, Dexter Community Schools, Eastern Michigan University Student Government, Eastern Washtenaw Democrats, Emerson School, Huron Valley Central Labor Council, Lincoln Consolidated Schools, Milan Area Schools, Pittsfield Township, Sen. Rebekah Warren, Rep. Gretchen Driskell, Rep. Jeff Irwin, Rep. David Rutledge, Rep. Adam Zemke, Saline Area Schools, Washtenaw County, Washtenaw Community College, Washtenaw County Democratic Party, Washtenaw Intermediate School District, Western Washtenaw Democrats, Ypsilanti Township and Washtenaw County Bar Association.
The Washtenaw Water Drive Coalition has obtained special pricing through a partnership with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) and Meijer, Inc. to purchase and transport bottled water at approximately 25% of the retail price. The coalition is hoping to raise enough funding to send 100,000 bottles of water to Flint residents.
If citizens would like to purchase bottled water on their own, donations can be dropped off at the following participating locations on Monday, 1/25 from 3-5 PM.
