~Helping Linda and Russ
I signed up for a GoFundMe page a year ago when LInda and Russ were having some problems .. and since then, their problems have increased significantly. I am going to retell the story so you know their battle. If you can manage to help them out, we all would be most grateful. I'm Linda's sister Debbie and I need your help. Linda is my little sister, who was diagnosed with breast cancer 4 years ago and is still suffering from many health issues as a result of chemotherapy. Russ is her hubby - who has been living with a worsening condition called Erdheim Chesters disease for almost 20 years. With their respective illnesses has come a lot of financial strain. Russ, even though he was becoming less capable of working because his condition attacks his heart and lungs, has kept on working regardless as long as he could. After 5 heart attacks, 22 stents and several serious health problems, Russ's condition is made worse with stress, which is impossible to avoid with 2 teenage children to provide for. Russ has been told he is not not allowed to work as his health is too poorly. Today in fact, he is in surgery in an attempt to 'drill' through his arteries that are blocked by the growths formed by the Erdheim Chesters disease. To top off this terrible situation, Centrelink have said that Russell is NOT ELIGIBLE for disability or other sickness benefits and have expected him to sign up to New Start, which is so ridiculous as he simply cannot, CANNOT work. Any of you that know Russ, will also know that this for him, is the worst thing possible - he needs to work and look after his family, but it is just not possible. This is a permanent position in that Russ will never be able to work again.
I really just want to give them a financial boost so both of them don't feel the constant panic of not being able to support their family. I hate seeing them struggle and they NEVER ask for help - they plod on with smiles on their faces and always eager to help everyone else. They deserve to have a bit of happiness and a lot less stress. If you are going to buy a coffee today, how about paying it forward instead and helping a family that always helps others ~
