Youth Soccer Field Improvement

For more than 20 years the Towanda Area Youth Soccer Association has been promoting soccer to area youth in an atmosphere that stresses balanced competition, safety, sportsmanship and fair-play.

Just 9 short years ago the organization was on the verge of collapse with declining registrations (barely over 100) and no permanent home.  However, through the hard work and dedication of several people in the community we are not only back on track but we are growing.

At present, we have grown into one of the areas largest youth sports organizations with more than 240 children ages 4-14 playing soccer every fall. Our success is a direct result of a very active membership including almost 50 coaches and the support of several key figures in the community.

Now, thanks to the generous support of the Bradford County Commissioners and the the Bradford County Airport, we finally have a permanent home.  However, the fields they have donated need a tremendous amount of work which will cost between $20-30 thousand dollars to get them ready for next fall.  The club has managed to obtain some of the money through a local grant, but this is not sufficient to cover the cost and unless we can raise the rest of the money, we will not be able to utilize the fields.
