Following the suicides of 2 close friends within days of each other, with no warning signs, I decided something had to be done to kick the stigma surrounding mental health and to stamp out the “man up” culture.
We aim our focus at men in male dominated environments such as the Armed Forces, Emergency services, Engineering and Construction, where men feel they cannot talk about feelings or emotions which in turn leads to a high suicide rate.
Although our focus is on Male mental health, we strive to provide support, knowledge and understanding for anyone who suffers from mental health issues. We also want to provide support for those who care for loved ones struggling through darker times.
All money raised will fund a one stop shop website for mental health support, local and national campaigns to promote the message that opening up about your feelings is ok and will also help to provide vital training to our volunteers enabling them to offer much needed support to anyone that needs it.
We want to kick the stigma into touch! Talking about mental health should be as easy as talking about the sports results on a Saturday or how awful the weather is.
