Let's Get Torrel A Bike!

Donation protected
Torrel has been inspired by friend Gabrielle Platt, a hand-cyclist and fellow member of the Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges. She inspired him to want to join races and events in the Tulsa area, but as well can imagine and understand, financial barriers limit opportunities.

We are enlisting the Tulsa community to help fundraise so that Torrel can buy a bike and that both Gabrielle and Torrel can continue to enter races without any barriers!

Gabrielle is looking to complete her first full marathon this coming weekend at Route 66, so let's make some more dreams come true!

More on Torrel:
In 2013, just two days after his 25th birthday, Torrel was in a car accident as a passenger in his friend’s car. He remembers the instant he suffered a spinal cord injury. After rehabilitation and realizing the extent of his injury, Torrel went through a period of depression. He says he was at the “end of his rope” when he decided to come to The Center. His rehab therapists told him about The Center and our services even though, as he says “I thought I could do this on my own.” Now an active member of The Center’s fitness program, spinal cord injury support group & adaptive sports, Torrel has found a new normal and new meaning to life.
