Top of the Pines (TOP) is a stunningly, beautiful 175-acre property located at 8,500 feet near
Ridgway, Colorado, at the foot of the San Juan Mountains.
Help us turn this old girl scout camp into a unique outdoor learning and recreation center for our community and future generations.
Currently TOP has a partially completed indoor learning facility, composting toilets, primitive camping and trails. We want to complete the pavilion so that our community and children have an indoor space for year-round classroom use. (It gets mighty cold at 8,500 ft.!) We would also like to expand the trails, build yurts and increase camping sites. To do all of this, we need a sizable grant-- and to get the grant, we need matching funds.
Our goal is to raise $45,000 in matching funds to satisfy the requirements of a Great Outdoors Colorado grant.
We've created a 501(c)(3) non-profit under contract with Ouray County, Colorado, for the purpose of establishing an environmental learning center for local and surrounding communities.
