A charity in Bridgend that supports people with disabilities has been left devastated after thieves broke into containers and stole thousands of pounds worth of equipment.

The trainees at B-Leaf, a horticultural project based in Bryngarw Country Park, depend on this equipment to carry out their gardening and grounds maintenance work.

The incident has sadly had a massive impact on the trainees as they value routine and structure in their lives; losing this equipment has been incredibly disruptive to them.

We have been overwhelmed by the amount of support we have received since our bad news was shared on our social media pages and covered on ITV Wales news.

The trainees, and the team of staff who support them, are truly grateful for the offers of donations and equipment, which will to allow them to carry on with their work.

Whilst we were covered by insurance, the donations we receive will be used to upgrade the gardening tools and equipment and make security improvements around the centre.

B-Leaf is managed by a registered charity, Awen Cultural Trust.
