Tony's Cancer treatments

Donation protected
UPDATED My 30 year old son Anthony "Tony" Ortega was diagnosed 4 years ago with Stage 1 Pancreatic Cancer. About 5 years ago, Tony was hospitalized with severe Pancreatitis, which ultimately led to his Pancreatic Cancer diagnosis.  At the time of his diagnosis he had a PPO Insurance through his employer and received a CTscan, MRI, Endoscopic Ultrasound Needle Biopsy, and labratory diagnostics to confirm his diagnosis.  Tony began treatment with an oncologist 3 times a month and was on oral chemotherapy "Gemcitabine" and became very ill.  Tony was working as an EMT/Ambulance Driver for Medlife Ambulance company that ultimately went out of business.  Tony immediately aquired another job as an EMT with Medi-Star Ambulance Company, however this employer offered no medical coverage.  For 2 years Tony recieved no medical treatment for his Pancreatic Cancer.  Pancreatic Cancer is one of the most aggressive cancers with very low survival rates. Statistics show that 93% of Pancreatic Cancer patients die within 5 years of diagnosis. Tony did not want to burden his family with his terrible diagnosis and kept this to himself, his fiance and employer for the past 3 years.  I (his mother) recently went through the testing process for uterine cancer (benign) and that is when I learned of my sons Pancreatic Cancer diagnosis.  Since learning of my sons disease, we have attacked it as aggressively as possible with alternative treatments.  We have hired a Naturopathic Medical Doctor and he is receiving numerous treatments to include High Dose Vitamin C IV's, CBD Oil, Ozone Therapy, RSO, Labratory diagnostic testing, B-17 Injections, Misteltoe Therapy (Helixor), Essiac Tea, Frankinsense Oil, etc. Tony's initial 6 weeks of treatment cost approximately $7000 and since has been averaging $1500-$2500 a month and his family has nearly exhausted the funds needed to continue treatment to fight this terrible disease.  We have recently learned after requesting all my son's medical records that he doesnt have typical Pancreatic Cancer, but a very rare form of Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Cancer that is not curable, but is treatable by a Neuroendocrine Tumor Specialist (NET Specialist). At the present time, Tony is still trying to obtain Medical/Medicare so he can see a specialist and get a treatment plan. We are currently paying cash for things such as imaging, tumor marking, continued labratory diagnostics. We have already lost years by being misinformed about the type of Tony's tumor and treatment options. We need to get him into a NET Specialist ASAP! Thank you everyone that have been so generous in helping save my son, we appreciate you more then you know. Tony recently has been seeing his original doctor that diagnosed him for some follow up testing and new scans and is requesting all old reports and new reports and scans be sent to a NET Specialist of our choice to review. We will pay cash for all this testing and consult with a NET Specialist and see what our options are. Tony plans to treat it with a combination of conventional and alternative treatments. Conventional treatment with a NET Specialist and diagnostic testing and imaging is expensive even with insurance, because of high Co-pays, but with NO insurance it is really not even manageable. However, we are not giving up, because Tony's life is priceless!
