Tony Runs for CREATION MYTH PUPPETS

I am running 65 kilometres before my 65th birthday on July 18th to raise money for Children, Creativity and Community. The three are inextricably linked. When children are brilliantly and collectively creative it  can transform a whole community.  We will be working with two communities - one in Cambridge (700 children)  and the other in Devon (500 children)


I have been making events like this for 30 years. The biggest motivation is the impact. To see the collective joy of the children as they marvel at these huge manifestations of their own creativity never ceases to amaze and move. This year we are aiming to set a new world record for The Biggest Puppet Show on Earth with  700 children  in Cambridge. And to celebrate the 40th anniversary of a school that is at the heart of a community in Devon. This is what we do by using mainly recycled materials to guide children to make their own wonderful creations and tell stories from all around the world.

There are 1200 children in all involved and every penny counts. It also helps, as matched funding,  to raise the full funding we need to make this happen. It's soul food! Here are some comments after one event:
"My daughter has never loved school so much and she has only been here 9 months"

"That brought tears to my eyes, it was the best thing I have ever seen"

"OFSTED should come in and see this - they might learn a thing or to about making a difference"

"It was one of those teacher moments where you think something special is happening and I am part of it"

And they are right it is special and we need to feel special by using our imaginations and celebrating our humanity together by simply being SPECTACULAR!!
