Tony Needs Emergency Surgery

This sweet, zippy boy needs your help! Tony has had a rough few days and is very sick. Tony was rushed to the hospital on Monday because he was vomiting and showing signs of severe pain. After receiving fluids and pain medication, x-rays showed that Tony had ingested something that caused a blockage. The hospital was unsure if it would clear on its own and let Tony go home. Later that evening he was rushed back to the hospital again because of the pain and was kept overnight so he his pain could be managed and the vet could watch the object move through his intestines by performing x-rays every 6 hours. Yesterday the vet was hopeful that the object would clear on its own and Tony got to go home but throughout the night the vomiting returned and his pain appeared to increase so he was rushed back to the hospital in the middle of the night and the hospital determined he would need to have surgery to remove the obstruction once his electrolytes and pain could be stabilized. Tony had surgery this morning and being the strong, little man he is, he pulled through the surgery and the obstruction was removed. There is still a concern about some damage that the obstruction might have caused so the veterinary team will be watching him closely. Tony will be spending the next several days in the hospital for monitoring and could need an additional surgery. For those of you who know Carling and Lindy, I don’t need to tell you passionate they are about advocating and helping animals. They are so kind and are always the first to reach out and help when any animal is in need. We want to want to help take some stress off them by helping with the mounting hospital bills.
