Amplify Tone Def with Our Own Mics

Hi there, Tone Def A Cappella here!
Thank you for taking the time to consider donating to our fundraiser, Amplify, which aims to make Tone Def a ‘plugged-in’ group with a fully functioning set of individual wireless mics, a sound mixing board, and speakers.
Unpredictable & unreserved, competitive & collaborative, Tone Def is a service-based coed a cappella group at the University of Florida. Our creative process is freely collaborative between members, and is a completely student run and student led organization. As our founder Waylon Zeng intended, Tone Def is on a mission to reDEFine music as you hear it. Along this path, however, we’ve come upon one very specific roadblock: we don’t have mics.
Without a wireless sound system, ensemble members will always have to hold back when they’re singing. We have to restrain our sound so that the audience can hear the soloist; after all, what soloist can out-sing 12 other people!? Because soloists can only sing so loudly without hurting themselves, we are limited to a very small range of dynamics, or volume.
We want to amplify our quality of performance.
We want to amplify our presence in the Gainesville community.
We want to amplify our mission to spread music throughout campus and to do that:
We need your help to amplify our sound and buy the equipment we need. The cost of everything we need is outlined below:
Microphones: $1,500
Mixing Board: $500
Speakers: $800
Software and cables needed to use all of the above: $200
