TOGETHER FOR MOZAMBIQUE
Over the weekend Cyclone Idai hit Mozambique mercilessly, cutting a path of destruction near the central port city of Beira claiming lives, livelihoods and destroying 90% of infrastructure across the city. It is being considered one of the most destructive storms to strike Southern Africa in decades.
The New York Portuguese Community stands with Mozambique in their time of need.
NYPALC, along with its member organizations, are launching a state-wide collection of:
- canned foods that have a long expiration period;
- Water Purification Tablets to help protect children and families from water-borne illnesses ;
- hygiene products (women's sanitary napkins, toothpaste, toothbrush)
- baby formula (dry);
- blankets (baby blankets)
- clothing for children
All donations should be dropped off at your local New York Portuguese American Community Center. For more information please email [email redacted]
