Todd's fight with cancer started with a cough and weight loss in December of 2015. After a visit to the doctor, he was told he had walking pneumonia.  Still not feeling well, Todd decided to go to the doctor during a visit to Sioux Falls in June of 2016. That's when he was diagnosed with non small squamous cell carcinoma stage 3B. He and Sherry made the decision to move back to Sioux Falls to be closer to family and better treatment options.  After dealing with insurance changes he started treatment in August, radiation and chemotherapy, to target the grapefruit-sized tumor in his right lung.  Initially it appeared that the treatment was working as the tumor had shrunk.  After his first round of treatment ended Todd started having pain in his right femur, so back to the doctor.  The scan in October of 2016 revealed a tumor in his right femur and they later found a spot in his brain and other lung.  He's now stage 4. In January after another scan they found 11 more spots in his brain.  He underwent a series of radiation treatments to his brain and more chemotherapy. After seeing no improvement, immunotherapy was suggested. Todd started that round of treatment February 7th, 2017.

Sherry, being his primary caregiver, hasn't been able to start working since they arrived back in Sioux Falls.  We are raising money to help cover living and medical expenses.  Every little bit helps and will give them one less thing to worry about while Todd fights for his life. Prayers help too!

With love and gratitude - Todd's family.

Here's a short update on Todd:
This last week or so his activity has slowed a bit, along with his appetite. We believe his "rally time" is slowly coming to an end. But that doesn't mean he can't have another. Please keep the prayers and well wishes coming, they are still very much needed at this time. Thank you every one. God Bless and Love you all.

Talked to my brother today, for the first time since visiting in March. He sounded so good, so much better than the last time I saw him. Turns out he doesn't really remember either of my visits. He was kind of in another world for a while. I asked him today what changed, why he decided to start eating again and he said someone showed him 2 photos of him and his son, TJ. He grabbed his phone and used the camera to look behind him and realized that they were taken in that room, the room he was in. He didn't remember TJ being there. Somehow that was a turning point for him. He was down to 85 (ish) pounds at his worst and now he's back up to 125. Go Todd! We joked about his Facebook food pictures. He said he used to wonder why people (he called them "foodies") would post pics of their food, now he's joined them. We talked about "lean in" moments. We talked about him being an inspiration and evidence of the strength of the human spirit. Good talk. Todd is taking it day by day spreading love and positivity and he is grateful for all of it. Love that guy! xoxo

We're still trying to spread the word to help raise funds for Todd and Sherry. Turns out living in hospice precludes one from having gainful employment....but the bills keep coming.

Todd continues to enjoy each day, spreading the love and positivity. I love seeing that smile on his face. Rock on big brother! ❤️

p.s. Todd is still living in the hospice house and has discontinued all treatments. He's been taking steroids to stimulate his appetite and it has worked. He's eating, getting up, out of bed and dressed, and taking it one day at a time. Anything you can contribute to help ease the financial burden from his medical treatments and lack of income would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry I can't help with anything but prayers right now as I just finished my own cancer treatment. Luckily mine is gone and will hopefully stay that way. I do wish you well and hope every thing turns out well. Love and miss you both.

As a lot of you know, Todd lost his battle with cancer on July 20th. Unfortunately, the bills still keep coming. Funeral costs, and all the Dr. and hospital bills. I am so appreciative of all that's been donated. But I am doing the best I can, and now since my hospitalization for a heart attack 11 days after his passing, our bills became even more overwhelming. Every little bit helps. Thanks for everything you all have done. Love to all, Sherry.
