Toby needs housing to keep her kids

Hi folks! About 9 months ago I came out as trans, and my marriage ended shortly thereafter. Things are going okay, but my housing is... not a perfect situation.


Right now I'm living in mom's basement. It's working okay, I even got a rug! But my mom is already housing my brother and his three kids, so space is tight, and now that the rain has started there's water leaking into my living space.


But there's some really good news: I've been given some space behind my mother's house where I could build a cottage!


I'm asking for help with a down payment on construction. As my divorce is finalized I'll have access to the money to finish out the space and with a small loft it will comfortably house me and the kids.

By ensuring that I have safe, autonomous housing, I'll make sure that I'm able to continue doing shared custody, which is my primary concern.

I recently stopped contracting and started working full-time as a writer for a tech startup. I have a good income, but taking on new debts is troublesome as we try to reach a mediated divorce settlement. This money will help me get housed sooner and ensure there's no time period where I'm unable to care for my kids.
