Tobin Kalebaugh Accident

While on vacation in Honduras Tobin Kalebaugh was involved in a serious accident.  As a result, he sustained multiple compound fractures in addition to other injuries.  He endured a 70-hour window before he was able to receive significant medical attention by a trauma team in Tyler, Texas.  This included a military transport and an air ambulance back to the US as his injuries could not be treated in Honduras.

Tobin has had two initial surgeries at the medical facility in Texas and there will likely be more to come.  His medical prognosis is better than expected, but he and his family have a long road in front of him to get this young man back on his feet and active again.  He and his family will have many decisions to make in the coming weeks and expenses that will need to be covered.

Luckily they have insurance that should cover (hopefully) a good share of the medical expenses.  However, they are likely going to have significant costs that are not covered and they will need to find the funds.  Additionally, Tobin is scheduled to start Vet School in Pomona California in early August and he and his family are working to move down there.  This would be a challenging time outside of the injury, but doubly so with this new issue.
