The Sigma Kappa Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon will be hosting our annual philanthropy event from Nov. 11-16th. All proceeds will be donated to the Lazarus House in Lawerence, MA. They are in great need as we enter the cold New England Winter. Please consider helping support this great organization.
Since opening its doors as an emergency homeless shelter in 1983, Lazarus House has been breaking the cycle of poverty in the Merrimack Valley region.
Their food and clothing programs assist families by stretching their dollars so they can afford rent, heat and utilities. Housing provides a safe haven for homeless families and individuals.
They have developed an extensive learning environment that provides ESOL and work prep classes and training for success enabling guests to become self-reliant.
For the week we set up a make-shift homeless shelter (pictured below) out front of the campus center at Merrimack College. We have Brothers who sleep in the box every night and stand outside the box during the day to mimic homeless people's lives and them begging for money. With the increased need, any and all donations are greatly appreciated!
