I am not the first and I may not be the last...But I do believe my story will end differently.
On November 12 2016, I, Dane-Marie Greaves, received my breast cancer diagnosis, invasive ductal carcinoma. Along with the knowledge that my paternal grandmother and aunt both had the disease and both succumbed to it.
I am in the process of preventing history from repeating itself and need help raising funds to do so. I have completed 8 rounds of chemotherapy and am currently awaiting the next phase in my treatment process. Surgery.
Surgery is broken up into two phases. The first phase, mastectomy with tissue expander, is scheduled for June 8th and will cost US $51, 098.97. The second phase, implant placement, which will be scheduled for 3 months later once there are no complications will cost about US$14,000.
My insurance company wants me to pay out of pocket then would like me to file a claim. As a result, the responsibility has fallen on myself and my father, mostly my father. In an attempt to relieve the financial burden, I'm starting this campaign and hopefully with your help I can beat breast cancer!
