We live in a consensus decision making egalitarian community in the Missouri Ozarks called Oran Mor. The community is growing with new families and bustling with great ideas, sustainable building projects, simple living, and a great love of the land. We have visions and one of them is to create a primitive tipi village!
Carlos and I have just finished setting up our first hand-built home, a tipi on the hill, and we are living in it and loving the tipi life! Waking up in the morning with the light grazing through our open door is the most serene feeling. The sound of woodpeckers and squirrels is delightful. The feeling I get when I think of all the hands and hearts that went into helping us get our tipi poles prepared is so special and fills me with such gratitude and joy.
Now we have the opportunity to build a SECOND TIPI! There is a tipi for sale on Craigslist going for just $200 with the poles included! For us to expand our one tipi into a Tipi Village, it is essential that we attain a SECOND tipi. It is in rough shape so we will need to do some patching, nothing a good canvas needle can't handle. This tipi even comes with the poles!
Having another tipi on the hill will provide a home for the next primitive folks who want to come and stay with us here at OM. We are in a monumental time of growth in a very organic and beautiful way so we need more homes for beautiful souls to lay their heads. This tipi will serve as that special space on a really special piece of land.
