Coyote Institute's mission is to bring the wisdom of the indigenous world into contemporary health care.  Part of that wisdom is that people with mental illness can recover.  We need alternatives to psychiatric hospitalization for people in crisis, especially for Native American people.  In collaboration with Wabanaki Health and Wellness, we are raising money to provide a tiny home for people in crisis for them to stay on sacred land for a brief period of time to recover while immersed in cultural programming and interacting with elders and peer support workers.  We have available land and peer support workers and elders, but we don't have a place for them to stay.  We are fund raising to build a mobile tiny house to use for this purpose.  To find out more about us, visit http://www.coyoteinstitute.us.  Our Executive Director is Lewis Mehl-Madrona.  Learn more about him at http://www.mehl-madrona.com.
