Tina’s journey started out with a call that she will never forget and will forever change her. The
results from her breast biopsy showed Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Stage One, HERS2 Positive. Tina soon
thereafter sought treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and further testing had shown that this
fast-growing cancer had already spread to her lymph nodes which changed her diagnosis to Stage 2.
Tina started her first round of Chemotherapy on January 3rd, and this powerful dose of Chemo
will continue for 18 weeks. Due to the aggressiveness of this cancer (the protein that fuels this cancer)
the Mayo Clinic wants to first, stop the progression of growth before surgery. Tina will undergo surgery
some time in June, that is if there are no complications. Her treatment of Chemo will continue after
surgery for another 8 months. To follow will be three to six weeks of radiation, which will be done in
Rochester, MN.
Tina is one of those people who has a big heart and believes in helping whenever and wherever
she can. She has played a big role in Superior, her home town of Lake Nebagamon, and surrounding
communities by donating personalized clothing from Shirts Unlimited. She also contributes to
numerous individual, community and larger scale health related and/or other benefits. For example,
she has been instrumental in the starting up of, contributing to, and countless hours of volunteering for
Bikers for Boobs for the past twelve years.
We are asking for help for her and her family. Both herself and her spouse will miss numerous
amounts of work due to the aggressive regimen of this treatment. There will also be numerous medical
bills, hotel and travel expenses. Please consider donating, her benefit will be held on April 7th at the
Clyde Iron in Duluth, MN from 12 pm to 5 pm.
