K, let’s get started…we are writing to tell you about our friend, Tiffany Steyer Green; mom, wife, daughter, gifted performer and spiritual leader.
She was the Cantorial Soloist at Temple Kol Ami in West Bloomfield, Michigan, and has enriched the lives of all she touched by her spiritual care and from hearing her voice on Shabbat, holidays or during one of her many musical performances.Tiffany was at the center of Jewish Life for so many people at TKA and our Detroit community and touched the lives of thousands. We would say that one of her special gifts was the relationship she developed with teens. Tiffany understood their struggles, and helped many of them find a course that suited their growing ideals. Tiffany encouraged young people to be thoughtful, compassionate, to explore and engage in social justice and above all to honor and serve their religious faith.
Tiffany’s life changed tragically last November when she suffered an acute neurological attack, which has required extensive rehabilitation. During the initial phase of her medical care Tiffany and Curin suffered the loss of their 2nd pregnancy. Curin has put his successful career as a musician on hold, to focus on Tiffany and their young son, Asher.
We all see hardships in our lives, but rarely does the course of adversity take us so far from where we intended to go.
The road to recovery has been a long one and will continue to cause ongoing physical, emotional and financial challenges. We’d like to focus this page on Tiffany’s hard-fought recovery to regain her gait, speech, and other skills without going into details regarding the hardship that this debilitating illness has wrought.
