Tiffany Carroll Cancer Medical Fund

Beschermde donatie
In June/July of 2014, Tiffany Myers Carroll  noticed a small lump in her arm. A few weeks later she had it looked at and her doctor told her it was probably just a  torn muscle.

Over the next couple months it grew bigger and became more painful. In November, her doctor decided they should do an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed she had a 2inch mass in her muscle. The doctor had "never seen anything like it." While her doctor was baffled, the mass grew even more.

On December 24th, she had an MRI which showed a large mass entwined in the muscle. The radiologist was the first person to take it seriously and recommended she get this taken care of right away.  This led to a biopsy of the mass to see exactly what she was dealing with.

After some hurdles Tiffany was then sent to see Dr. Hayden, a surgeon specialized in the removal of sarcomas. He is the one to initially look at the chest scans and is also the one to break the news that the mass in her arm was indeed cancerous. Dr. Hayden didn't want to waste anytime and scheduled the surgery a couple of weeks after the confirmation.

The tumor in the arm was removed on January 29th and officially stated as a 'High Grade Undifferentiated Sarcoma with Epithelioid'. Everything went well and the doctor came back with clear margins (no sign of cancer). Considering Tiffany was pregnant still there was zero chance the doctors wanted to take the risk with chemo/radiation so this is all that was done at this point. She then went into recovery mode for the next 5 months healing up to the best of her ability. There was a decent amount of functionality loss in the arm and doing even the simplest of tasks are extremely difficult.

This takes us to now, or about a month ago. Tiffany had to get scans done of her arm and her chest again. This is a pretty common practice when you have cancer as they just want to make sure it hasn't returned. It had. The arm came back clear, which is good considering it was the place of origin, but the chest scan showed a spot on the lung. Tiffany is now preparing for yet another operation, the surgery will be on July 9th and she along with her family will be gone for close to 2 weeks in Portland while she recovers.

This fund is set up to help ease the stress of the financial burden that comes with the traveling 600 miles back and forth between Portland, the hotel expensives that come along with that, medical costs that may arrise, and loss of income that Kris will have from being away. Any help is greatly appreciated.
