Help Repair Thyme Table Building

Our family owns the Thyme Table and Savoy buildings in Ferguson, Missouri.  On Monday, November 24th, following the release of the Michael Brown verdict, the Thyme Table building was vandalized and severely damaged in the violence. The looters broke nearly all of the windows by throwing bricks through them and attempted to start the building on fire. They also tried to gain entry through the rear door by ramming it with a concrete post. The looting of the building was extensive.  We need to make repairs to the roof, walk-in cooler and freezer and replace the blinds and the plate glass windows.  We would like to rebuild and replenish, but we need your help. Farzad Faramarzi and his wife Lisa became popular restaurant owners in Ferguson and helped turn the city's faded downtown into a dining and entertainment district. He died of colon cancer in November of 2010, at his home in Ferguson. Lisa has remained one of Ferguson's biggest boosters. "It's got that old-town feeling," they told the Post-Dispatch in 1999. "It's like being in a little town in the middle of a big city." Together they opened and operated the Thyme Table Cafe, expanding it twice, and Savoy Banquet Center. Since Farzad’s passing, Thyme Table Cafe has closed, while Savoy Banquet Center remains open under the ownership of Tony Lonero. The owners of Cathy’s Kitchen, another restaurant in Ferguson affected by the civil unrest, are in the process of opening a BBQ and Blues restaurant at the Thyme Table location. Without your help, Lisa and her family will be unable to rebuild and their building will sit boarded up and unsuitable for operations.
