What is Thrive?


Division. The truth is, division is everywhere. 

We have geographical divisions. We have racial division. We have political division. But there is one place that division should never be found. Division should never be found in God’s church. When it comes to God’s true church—the people who keep the testimony of God and the faith of Jesus—there needs to be unity. 

So, why is there all this division? You have one group over here doing their own thing, one ministry over there, another ministry over there, another over there—everyone in their own sphere. 

This is why Thrive was created.

Thrive's mission is to create company evangelism everywhere by uniting all the ministries in the church.


Here’s how it works: Thrive recruits a company of young, talented, self-sacrificing volunteers. These volunteers are not paid, but each one has a desire and passion to give back to the coummunity by working full-time for God. 

Our volunteers are skilled in multiple areas: Bible work, canvassing, medical missionary work, and lifestyle coaching; just to name a few. They train church members to use their skills to work together as one by uniting the ministries of the church.  


Does it actually work? 

Over the past two and a half years we have worked with six churches in two of the toughest areas in North America—Las Vegas, NV and Salt Lake City, UT. By God's grace, we have seen over 250 decisions for baptism just in the last year. When we move together, God will truly bless our efforts! 

Because the truth is, we only Thrive when God moves everyone.


But we don't want to just stop here...

We want to keep marching forward to the calling God has given us! In order to do this we need people who have a vision for evangelism. A vision that doesn't stop with just one person or one church or one facet of the ministry. We need supporters who see the need for the church, and all it's ministries, to move together as one. 

These projects have been in the works for months, and we are now entering the final phase of planning and implementation. We hope to reach our goal of $150,000 by mid-March in order to launch these iniatives in a timely manner (see below).

Using these four initiatives, Thrive aims to spread company evangelism to more areas of the world as we seek to save souls! All of these initiatives are interconnected and are vital in our effort to move the entire body of Christ in one accord.
Our juice bar/church plant initiative will function as Thrive's main hub in the greater Salt Lake City area. 

We are partnering with Press Together (a thriving Atlanta based cold-pressed juice bar) to bring this vision to life. Using raw, organic, nutrient dense ingredients to create the most delicious tasting cold-pressed juices, our aim is to bring health and healing to every person that steps through our doors—
physically, mentally and spiritually. 

This entering wedge will help us foster a conducive atmosphere in which spiritual conversations are natural, and the establishment of a church plant possible. Cooking classes, health seminars and evangelistic outreach/training will all be an integral part of our juice bar-church plant.

The property owner of our prospective location has already agreed to the terms of the lease. Our goal is open a fully running juice bar/church plant by March of this year. 


More free clinics = more opportunities to bring souls to Christ!

Despite the recent roll-out of the Affordable Care Act, there are still 40 million Americans without health insurance and 100 million without dental coverage. 

Last year, we partnered with AMEN (Adventist Medical Evangelism Network) to bring a free clinic to the underserved and uninsured of Ogden, Utah. Each individual that came to the clinic was invited to an evangelistic series in their area. Because of these intentional invitations, over 80 people were baptized at these evangelistic series!

We are hosting a free clinic in Las Vegas, NV on the campus of the UNLV (University of Nevada, Las Vegas) this month. Our goal is to host an additional free clinic in Salt Lake City, UT at the same time next year.


1 million pieces of literature. 10 days. 

It sounds improbable, but with God anything is possible! We are partnering with GLOW  (a major creator and distributer of small Christian literature) to make these mission trips possible in some of the toughest areas in America. We're planning  to do a 1 Million GLOW mission trip in Salt Lake City, UT before the grand opening of the juice bar church.

This initiative is key because small pamphlets like GLOW help us establish a presence in order to prepare an area for further work.

Our Salt Lake City 1 Million GLOW mission trip is scheduled for March. We are also planning to host an additional 1 Million GLOW mission trip in Las Vegas by October this year. 
 
Canvassing enables us to pursue an education while volunteering full-time for God.

Youth Rush and canvassing provide an opportunity for young people like ourselves to earn scholarships to continue our education. Any Thrive volunteer that wishes to continue their education through online schooling will receive a 50% matching scholarship. 

We need partners who will be willing to support our summer canvassing scholarship program and Thrive's matching scholarship initiative.

These scholarships are available to our volunteers throughout the year. 

These projects all come with their own unique challenges. To minimize risk for our donors we have built a foundation of successful experiences before we launched this GoFundMe.

Over the past two and a half years, our volunteers have participated and hosted multiple free clinics, GLOW mission trips, and canvassing scholarship programs. Thrive volunteers have also interned at Nature's Food Market and Juice Bar (Bakersfield, CA) to prepare for the opening of our own juice bar. For each project we have also partnered up with ministries that have long records of experience in their given expertise (Press Together, AMEN, GLOW, Youth Rush and SOULS West) to mentor us in the creation and implementation of these initiatives.

Most importantly, we have prayed, and then prayed... and then prayed some more. We have left everything in God's hands, and we will continue to do so in faith as we push forward with these projects.
