On Sunday August 26th our beloved Chi-weenie Thor was attacked by a stray dog who jumped the fence into our yard. We were able to save him but the dog had already done severe damage. Thor was rushed to CVS animal hospital and into emergency surgery where they were able to save his life.
He has multiple bite wounds to the head, staples and a drain tube but more concerning was the bite wound to his neck.
He had a puncture wound to the trachea/larynx that was severe and they fear there may be nerve damage. He is drinking water but will not eat and can't keep anything down. Our next option is to have them perform another surgery to see if there is more internal damage or to placed feeding tube and see if the neck damage will heal over time.
At this point his emergency bills are up to $1500 from the emergency surgery and after care. We are willing to exhaust all options and hope that our little man is able to recover.
He is the most loving, sweet little guy with a huge personality and we hate to see him suffer like this but he is a fighter.
