Thomas Depalo Cancer Treatment

On June 19th, one of our fellow REVAN's, Thomas Depalo - Flight Dispatcher was found outside of REVA's Operations Center having a seizure. 

We are thankful for the quick action of our building neighbors, calling 911 and notifying REVA of Thomas' medical emergency. 

Thomas was transported to Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale. A few hours after his arrival he had another seizure. This prompted doctors to run numerous tests on him to find the underlying source. 

We are heartbroken to report a small mass was found on his lung and a tumor within his brain. After further biopsies, Thomas has been diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. 

On Tuesday, July 2nd, Thomas underwent brain surgery to remove the tumor and is doing well. He has multiple visits scheduled with oncologists to tackle the lung cancer. 

This situation comes as a shock to Thomas' family, friends, and co-workers. We all know Thomas is 27 year old non-smoker that maintains an active, healthy lifestyle. Thomas is a fighter, and after speaking with his doctors we are extremely optimistic of a positive outcome for him, but his fight isn't over just yet. 

Multiple employees have inquired how they can help and support Thomas during his time of need. While he does have medical insurance, his out of pocket maximums and reduced salary make it extremely difficult for him to stay afloat and maintain a comfortable, normal, life as possible.
