TIBETAN YOGINI FILM PRODUCTION

Donation protected

The Yogini Project is returning to the editing room this spring to produce and subtitle a series of Tibetan language interviews, mostly with rare to encounter Tibetan yoginis, as well as insightful interviews with several Western yoginis with over 30 years experience in practice and teaching.  This unique footage comes from the first round of filming of The Yogini Project's film ‘Women On The Path '.

Jetsunma Jamyang Drolma (the rebirth of Freda Bedi) during her Jetsunma empowerment ceremony

Interviews include...
* Jetsunma Jamyang Drolma, Pharping, Nepal
* Ani Bumchung, Tso Pema, India
* Ani Konchog Drolma & Pema Yangki, Tsoknyi Gechak Ling, Nepal
* Ani Gyen Tara, Nagi Gompa, Nepal
* Lama Shenpen Hookham, UK
* Marcia Dechen Schmidt, Nagi Gompa, Nepal
* Tsunma Aileen, DGL Nunnery, India

What we seek with these interviews and all our media is to provide encouragement for women either already committed to practice or just being introduced and encountering the Dharma for the first time to have examples of women who are manifesting the fruits of the practice without needing a limelight to authenticate their qualities. Their qualities are inherent in themselves and their practice - which is precisely where all 'women on the path' will eventually find them, they will arise within.

This world now as much as ever needs awakened women, women who are empowering themselves through genuine practice.

The Nangchen Nuns:  Ani Pema Yangki and Ani Konchog Drolkar at Tsoknyi Rinpoche's nunnery in Nepal

This GoFundMe Fundraiser is for the costs of out-sourcing our timecode creation and post-production work on the original material, final translation and review of the Tibetan transcripts (triple reviewed) into English, subtitling, and then in-house editing on this extensive footage. This is a time and cost intensive process that your generous, timely support enables.

We intend to reach our necessary goal by August 27th, 2017.

This material will be released publicly to our Yogini YouTube Channel (select previews) and to our Yogini Archives (full footage) Vimeo channel.

All supporters, great and small, will receive a minimum one year free pass to the Yogini Archives, based on their level, for immediate access to the material as released.

Here are some stunning examples of the wisdom and clarity of some of the foremost women in Buddhist practice today, examplars for the vast, unprecedented number of women in practice in these times:

More on this Project:
After a series of key media releases, including our landmark film White Lotus on the unprecedented education opportunities for young nuns at Tsoknyi Rinpoche's Gechak Ling Nunnery in Nepal, we have come to the time to produce this series of Tibetan interviews from our first filming for Women On The Path.

Ani Bumchung telling the story of wisdom dakini Mandarava, Tso Pema, India

These include an interview with a Tibetan yogini fresh from 9 years retreat, Jetsunma Jamyang Drolma , the day before she became empowered as a Jestunma; one of Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche's closest nuns and disciples who heads Nagi Gompa, Ani Gyen Tara, interviewed in Tulku Urgyen's practice room at Nagi; several senior Nangchen nuns at Tsoknyi Rinpoche's nunnery in Nepal, Ani Konchog Drolma & Pema Yangki, who are teaching and empowering the next generation of nuns there to be teachers of tomorrow; and a highly regarded cave yogini, Ani Bumchung (simply radiant!), living above Guru Rinpoche's cave at Tso Pema - one of the foremost pilgrimage sites for Tibetan Buddhists in the Himalayas - telling the story of dakini Mandarava.

These are obviously faces of empowered women that are not only not seen in mainstream media, but even in the likes of prominent books narrating the lives of accomplished women such as Dakini Power and Women Of Wisdom - these are accomplished women, benefiting others, out of the limelight.  Their wisdom and compassion, are so essential and timely for the world to see.

Please consider to support this worthwhile endeavor at any level.  We can together see the light of these women reach out others in this world, lighting them, as one candle to another.

With love,
The Yogini Project
