The Rise of Sparta

American football club Sarajevo Spartans is founded in 2011, aiming to promote and develop sport on Bosnia and Herzegovina soil. Currently, it is the only club of American football internationally representing Bosnia and Herzegovina with over 40 international games in our short history.
KAF Sarajevo Spartans has over 60 members with constant intention of increasing it’s membership and takes part in one of the biggest regional leagues in Europe – Central European Football League (CEFL) – CEFL Cup .
Being the only club in Bosnia makes us responsible for helping other parts of Sarajevo and the country get to know football and use our knowledge and experience in starting other clubs and, eventually, a state association and domestic competition.
Just in two last months, by playing friendlies in other B&H cities and promoting football online through our up-to-date website, and social networks , we are in position where two more clubs are emerging in Tuzla and Bijeljina, with a friendly game against Dubrovnik in Mostar in May, where we will be looking to start another club too.
As you can see, we are on fire! Momentum is there, and we would like to harness the energy around us and try our best to move a bit more forward. Many challenges are on our way, but the biggest one is infrastructure. It is hard to start any sport in B&H, especially football, so we need any help available.
Last year we were given the space inside the Stadium Otoka in Sarajevo, under a condition of investing in it, and making it a livable space, since it was devastated and empty. We have already, with the help of our friends, invested more than 2000 Euros in hard work and isolation of the space.

Now, we would like to use the next period until September, to invest more and work on making it an office, a meeting point, and most importantly, a gym for our Spartans, as well as a place we can host other clubs and friends who come to visit us.
Additionally, this space will provide us leverage, and will be used in future enterprenurial and self-sustainable developement of the club.
We are aware that we have friends all around the world, and we would like to invite you to join the Sparta, our family, and help us in something we live for. All donations will be publically recognized through our website and social networks, and those a bit more generous will be gifted in appreciation of your generosity.
Have in mind that you are helping a group of volunteers, people who are giving their own money and time for 6 years already, who have, just in last two months, traveled 3800 kilometers, playing games and promoting football in Bosnia and regionally.
We are Spartans, we ask not how many, we ask where, and we will not stop on our path to better football, better sport and bigger community.
