The Reluctant Spoonie- POTS Awareness

£100 goal

Campaign created 1 month ago
Hi, my name is Katherine and I was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) in 2016. Before my diagnosis, I had not heard of POTS before, even though it is thought to affect millions of people worldwide .

POTS is a debilitating illness that is often misdiagnosed as anxiety or another mental health condition. Those with POTS usually have to wait 5/6 years for a diagnosis by a cardiologist or specialist. When left untreated, those with POTS are unable to work or leave the house. Those with POTS have a very poor quality of life, comparable to end-stage kidney failure or COPD. There is currently no cure for POTS, but with proper management of symptoms, those with POTS can return to their normal activities.

I am currently working to raise awareness of POTS and help others with POTS through my blog, The Reluctant Spoonie .

Help me to continue creating content and raising awareness by donating as little as £1 to my fund for the upkeep of my blog.

All excess funds will be donated to POTSUK  at the end of the year.
