Carmen's chronic illness needs

I'm Sarah and I need to talk about my beautiful friend Carmen who is struggling with particularly difficult circumstances. I am keen to do what I can to support her. Please read her story, below. Every donation will contribute towards a therapy bed, to help Carmen get the rest she needs.  Living with multiple auto immune conditions involves coping with constant pain, fatigue and other debilitating symptoms, and achieving quality sleep is vital.

Hi, my name is Carmen and I am a 35 year old mother of two. I am trying to raise $10000 for a King Size therapy bed so my husband and I can have a good nights sleep. This would be a one off cost for us as we hope to get at least ten years out of it. After that we should be able to replace the mattresses by ourselves.

I now have seven auto immune diseases, the worst of which are Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis , Sjogren’s Syndrome, Coeliac disease and Hashimoto thyroiditis. I am also diabetic. According to my specialists, my diseases are now chronic and will probably not go into remission.

Life isn’t easy for us. We live and work in a remote part of WA and my husband is often away. I home school my two children, one of whom has A typical autism and is unable to go to school. I try to contribute financially as well and work part time where I can, although it is not enough to cover the ever rising medical costs.

My lack of sleep due to severe pain affects my ability to deal with my diseases. I’d be forever grateful if I raised enough money for a bed.
