Theodore Hill

Our beloved nephew, Theodore Hill, passed away at 7:29pm on Friday, November 24 following a traffic accident that occurred two days before. We want to support Theo's parents and siblings as they make funeral and celebration of life arrangements as a result of this unexpected and devastating death. We are working towards a goal of $16250 to help cover the costs that they need to manage immediately. Any funds beyond that amount will be split between The Canadian Transplant Society and the costs associated with Tiffany Hill’s current master’s degree research which is focused on exploring lived experiences with children whose siblings have died, something to which Theo was intending to contribute.
Our niece and Theo’s sister, Tiffany, described his death so eloquently in a recent facebook post. She wrote:
How incredibly surreal the last five days have been. Such sadness, grief, and most importantly, laughter. In his final moments I read him goodbye letters written by friends and family at his bedside, held his hand close and heart closer, reminisced his rebellion, and danced to and sang some of his favourite songs.
Among his many accomplishments, I think it's safe to say that the top two happened moments before and after his death. After 17 years, he forced our family back together in the most intimate and vulnerable way. And finally, always the hero, he gave the gift of life to the four recipients of his liver, lungs, and kidneys.
It now seems like more than a coincidence that I started my thesis on exploring the lived experiences of children whose siblings have died. Since Theodore always loved the spotlight, it seems only fitting that now my research will be dedicated in his honour.
Thank you for all the love, support, care, and kindness. I am immensely moved and humbled. Announcements will be made about the celebration of his life shortly.
