Andrew Lumish & Jen Armbruster, Positively Tampa Bay Game Changers, March 2018

It all started when...

Andrew Lumish stumbled upon a historical cemetery in downtown tampa, florida, realized the final resting places of our veterans were forgotten, & decided to do something about it...

Although he is somewhat of a workaholic, Andrew always makes time to stop and appreciate nature’s beauty. He considers himself an “extremely amateur novice yet enthusiastic photographer” but anyone who has the pleasure of viewing his images can see he is far from amateur. Instead, you can see he is a natural and is blessed with an incredible gift...

... When Andrew stumbled upon a historic cemetery in Tampa, Florida he was initially intrigued by the unique beauty of the old monuments, but soon he realized the final resting place of our veterans were long “forgotten” and he needed to do something.. He began to research proper restoration techniques & Product used at national cemeteries. After restoring a few monuments, he realized this was a calling and made it his life goal to continue on this mission, research their names, and tell their story...

... A few years later in September 2015, Andrew’s friend and ABC Action News anchor Brendan McLaughlin featured his inspiring story and dubbed him “The Good Cemeterian”. The video went viral having more than 12 million Shares a week after the segment aired. Hundreds wanted to know how they, too, could safely and properly do the same in their communities...

...To this day, over 800 lives have been remembered in the Tampa area. The story of "The Good Cemeterian" has been featured on stations such as NBC, FOX, and CBS.

Andrew, with the assistance of Jen Armbruster, who researches and writes the stories for The Good Cemeterian Facebook page, founded a non-profit organization called The Good Cemeterian Historical Preservation Project based on their mission: to restore and honor the past through inspiration and education. Their organization supports numerous vetted military organizations both locally and nationally... Andrew's son, Tyler, is also part of the cause and designs the graphic art for their page & fundraisers...

... Since starting their unique journey together, The Good Cemeterian duo has inspired people across the country and now around the world... Their Labor of Love continues to encourage others to find ways to ensure these brave men and women are not forgotten for their sacrifices and service...

By restoring their final resting place and telling their story.., The Good Cemeterian historical preservation project is restoring history- one tombstone at a time....

** Andrew travels daily at this point for the organization... Every time he has an interview or is filmed, he misses an opportunity to work... (please note: he does not get paid to be on TV or interviewed) He has also been restoring monuments more than one day a week in order to have enough restorations for different projects...
** We raised enough money to purchase a domain name & our very own website platform. Jen worked hard on what is now www.thegoodcemeterian.org... We are happy to share our content with you as we expand our efforts that support our cause!
** Tyler spends hours designing logos for our merchandise sales...We purchased a Photoshop membership in order for him to create graphics you see on our T-Shirts & Tote Bags .... All of which are now available to purchase through our "Shop" portal on our website.
