$16,055 of $30,000 goal

Raised by 588 people in 8 months

We want to thank all of you for your continued love & support! Words cannot  express our gratitude!!
**since the end of May, the  page has grown from 46,000 followers to over 72,000!

For those who did not know, we are officially a Tax Exempt, Public Charity!! Woohoo! The Good Cemeterian Historical Preservation Project, Inc. was born on March 8th 2017...

We wanted to give everyone an idea of the daily expenses that go into our project(s)

We truly NEED to rely on donations in order to operate efficiently...

** Genealogy search engines each have an annual fee (we currently have annual global memberships to 3 search engines)
** Supplies such as: rags, brushes, toothpicks, q-tips, sunscreen, water jugs, and clothing are crucial for monument restoration
** Jen travels 40 miles bi-weekly to collect obituaries on microfilm... It costs $3 per every 2 hours to park...She also spends on average 30 hours/week on research as well as assists Andrew on other projects...
** Andrew travels daily at this point for the organization... Every time he has an interview or is filmed (which has been almost every day lately), he misses an opportunity  to work... (please note: he does not get paid to be on TV or interviewed) He has also been restoring monuments more than one day a week in order to have enough restorations for different projects...
** Tyler spends hours designing logos for our merchandise sales...
** We recently purchased a domain name and platform to build our official website! (stay tuned!)
** If you guys want a book.... that costs money, too!! lol

Andrew and I frequent the page to answer comments and questions because, let's face it... We love you all!!

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service of the United States of America... This past Memorial Day, Andrew and I honored the life and sacrifice of Private Oshie James Martin :

Florida native Oshie James Martin was born on November 7th 1919 to Hailey J. Martin and Effie Lou Pitts… He had 4 Brothers and 2 Sisters… Oshie was a graduate of Franklin Junior High School and had brown hair and blue eyes…

As a young adult, Oshie was employed as a machinist for the American Iron & Metal Company… he stood 5ft 6in and weighed 145 pounds… On July 1st 1941, he registered for the draft of the Second World War…

Oshie J. Martin married Cora A. Underwood at the Tampa Courthouse on April 11th 1942… Five months later on September 30th 1942, Oshie enlisted with the United States Army as Private of Company M, 315th Infantry, 79th Division…

Private Martin was a Machine Gunner in the Infantry… He was sent overseas in April of 1944 and was stationed in France…
