The American Youth Sailing Force will line up against nine teams from around the world in the wicked fast AC45 catamarans for the Red Bull Youth America's Cup this September. The American Youth Sailing Force is the US team with the best chance of bringing home the trophy.
The Force won that spot in the US Trials organized by the America's Cup defender, Oracle Team USA. We beat four other teams of 19 to 24 year old sailors to claim the right to represent San Francisco in this premiere event for youth sailing.
The members of "The Force" represent the next generation of high performance sailors and aim to demonstrate that young American's can be a leading force in international sailing competition. To achieve this goal, the team needs the support of the US sailing and racing community. When The Force stands on top of the podium every supporter will know their contribution was vital to the victory.
As the hometown team, The Force feels a strong commitment to give back to the community. Their greatest asset is "youth talking to youth". They are reaching out to younger sailors in community boating and junior sailing programs around the Bay area in an effort to broaden the base of sailing in the US.
Each team competing in this regatta must generate all of its own funding. Our goal is to raise $25,000 from small contributions and we are asking for your personal support of the team.
