Festival of Making

The National Festival of Making is organised and managed by a Community Interest Company.
We fundraise all year to deliver projects in the community and a Free Family Festival in Blackburn, Lancashire, providing a unique celebration of Making and Manufacturing in the UK, for both home-based and small-scale makers & our nation’s factories and workforces.
The festival CIC aims to devise a programme of events of national significance celebrating and sharing the joy of making through participatory, diverse, inclusive and multi-generational experiences, including our landmark National Festival of Making.
We want to keep our activities free and low-cost so that everyone can enjoy them and so fundraising is imperative to us. In 2018 we worked with over 200 stakeholders and volunteers, our FESTIVAL MAKERS, to help keep this aspirational programme open to everyone.
We’d like to invite you to become a FESTIVAL MAKER yourself and make a contribution to the Festival of Making CIC to help us ensure our future projects and events are for all.
We have created this page to allow our visitors, stakeholders, supporters and sponsors to financially support the continuation of free and low-cost activities.

£5 provides a volunteer t-shirt to take home and keep as a souvenir of their commitment to the festival.
£10 covers the print cost of 50 FREE Festival Guides
£75 provides all the infrastructure for a family workshop, including gazebos, tables and chairs and materials
£250 could be used to purchase materials for a participatory maker session
