You can't keep a good dog down

My name is Elliott for the three or four people left on the planet that don't know me. I'm a bit of a clown and sometimes a pain-in-the-ass but for whatever reason I can always bring a smile to my human's face. He's the guy that walks behind me with the bag waiting for me to go outside.

I've worked hard over the last five years trying to make my human a better person. I'll admit, it's been quite a challenge but I think he's become less selfish and a little more understanding.

I've pushed to see where his limits are. In 2014 I got a pack of gum for me and my sister to enjoy and ended up in the ER. I didn't know what Xylitol was and I didn't know it would cost so much to get my system flushed. In 2015 I swallowed something and it blocked my intestine. I didn't poop or eat for 11 days-man was I backed up. Thankfully they cut it out and it's in a bag in the human's freezer-no one knows what it was and I'm not telling.

This time is different though. I didn't do anything wrong I promise. Last night I got up to go for a walk with the human and my sister and I had trouble in my back legs. I thought maybe I'd just slept wrong but over the course of an hour I lost all function. The Dr. says it's paralyzed-whatever that means. I can still feel the dr. when he pokes my feet so they think it's a disc rupture. Once my human stopped crying hysterically they explained that there's an 80% chance I'll be able to walk again if they can get in and fix my back. Thank god the fat human didn't wait too long.

My human feels like a failure right now. He's 41 can't believe that he would actually need to ask for help (he spent a fair amount of money and resources over the last couple of years dealing with some bogus legal issues from an old place he called 'work'). I think I still have a lot of torment left for my human so I'm trying to raise some money. My human says he's going to sell his car ASAP to pay for this but he's too busy crying right now and I'm heading in to get an MRI and my surgery after I finish writing this so he better get it going quickly.

Anything extra I get or if the surgery doesn't cost as much as they say, will be donated to the Chicago French Bulldog Rescue. There are a lot of my friends in the rescue who haven't had it nearly as good as I have and I want to do everything I can to help them too.

Off to get a happy pill and my MRI

XOXO
