Greetings and salutations! My name is David Horn and my friend, Kaitlin Hull, and I would like to start a podcast called The Cracked Ones. The show will center around all of the things that make us weird or different. The theme being "A podcast for broken people, by broken people. We will tackle mental illness fairly regularly since both Kaitlin and I suffer from various forms oursevles. Depression, anxiety, bi-polar. You name it we've probably experienced it either directly or indirectly. But it won't be a downer of a show so don't worry. Despite covering serious topics we both have a sense of humor about them and will, I'm sure, veer off onto other topics quite regularly. Film recommendations and conversations, music, art, books and whatever else happens to pop into our head on that particular day.
A little bit about Kaitlin and I, we've both spent time in crisis units as the result of either suicide attempts or complete mental breakdowns. The stories we have from those places are vast and insane. We have been prescribed every medication you can think of related to mental illness and have seen countless doctors and psychiatrists as well. Needless to say we know what we're talking about when it comes to these things and another part of the show will be listener stories where you can write us with your struggles with mental health and how you are able to cope with the day to day.
We've been best friends for about 6 years now and have actually done a podcast 4 years ago called Half Past the Full Moon. I personally have done two others, David and Goliath and What I Like. So we have experience in creating what we hope to be an entertaining and informative show.
By donating to our cause you will help us pay for the necessary equipment and server space for our website. All in an attempt to help at least one other person out there realize that they are not alone. There's nothing wrong with you just because your brain may be a bit broken.
