Theatre of Minds
Creating new and innovative theatre, telling honest and relevant stories of the modern world.
Blog: www.theatreofminds.wordpress.com

Theatre of Minds was formed in 2016 by a group of young people wanting to create theatre about the issues that matter to us the most. The whole project is run by creatives between the ages of 18 and 21, so that we can tell young people’s stories as honestly and truthfully as possible.

Base Layer
In the summer of 2016 we performed Base Layer – a production by young people for Young Minds, through which we raised awareness for the charity as well as a donation of over £2000. The piece was devised from extracts of plays and in some cases, based on experience with the main aim of reducing the stigma and stereotypes surrounding mental illness in young people, and to get people talking more about the topic. If you missed us last time around, you can watch a recording of the performance on our blog and even catch up on our rehearsal process with our behind the scenes videos.

buckets
In 2018, Theatre of Minds is reforming to produce a brand new piece of theatre. Over the summer we will be developing a production of ‘buckets’ by Adam Barnard – a play about time and how nothing lasts forever, exploring relationships and emotions through 33 interconnected scenes. We would once again like to use this production to raise some fundsYoung Minds, the UK's leading charity committed to improving the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people, and supporting the families of those affected.

But since this is a pre-published play we need to raise some money ourselves in order to pay for the performance rights and some of the production costs, so that we can make such a donation after the performance. If you enjoyed Base Layer and want to see more, or you want to support a group of passionate, creative young people trying to get their voices heard, please do consider donating to our page to help us get Theatre of Minds up and running again. Any contributions, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated, but if you can’t donate please share the link to this page on social media to help us spread the word of our latest endeavour.

Make sure you are following the blog to keep up to date with all our goings on, and find out more about the project: www.theatreofminds.wordpress.com
