Help Build House for Blind Quilter
Hi! I’m Diane Rose, the blind quilter. You may have seen this story about me on Texas Country Reporter .
God has given me a vision in a dream to move to Branson, MO and build a house. The reason I want to live in Branson is to help others with vision problems with sewing. One of my goals is to have a gift shop/lodge or a gift shop with living quarters in the back where people can come and be helped.
I have a volunteer architect who will design the house. I am not married, live alone and I don’t have any family. I need a house with a large sewing room where I can spread out. I currently live in a very tiny mobile home.
Since I’m blind, there are certain features that I need in the house that would help me. For instance an intercom doorbell, sensor lights and special-needs appliances. The house would have three bedrooms, an office, a room for my kitty cats, and a large sewing room in a very safe area.
I do not live on government assistance. I receive a small Social Security check and I am as independent as I possibly can be, making quilts and selling them.
I don’t feel safe where I am currently living, and I feel it is time for God to move me from Texas to Branson, Missouri. I have strong ties to the Country Music community and I miss it very much. There will be more opportunities to help others in Branson. I know it costs quite a bit to build a house, but I want to make sure it’s secure and safe.
I have been looking for a television show or organization to help me build the house, so I have decided to try Go Fund Me. For those who are able to financially help, I would like to put a plaque with your names on it in my house. It is important to me that people are appreciated for what they do.
We have a long way to go but we're taking baby steps. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated!
