The Workshop Kickoff Campaign!

The concept of soul care has traditionally occurred on two levels.  The first is in the context of community—taking advantage of the healing power of groups. The second is significant, healing, one-on-one relationships.  

The Workshop provides a non-traditional approach to both counseling and social engagement. Activities are designed to put clients’ hands to work while they process emotional difficulties and trauma. For instance, clients working to restore a classic truck will simultaneously be working to restore their own emotional resilience and strengthen their resolve. This approach to counseling is very effective for those who might not choose to sit in a chair and talk about their feelings for an hour a week. It uses multiple modes of counseling to effectively allow the person to process through their struggles in a way that meets their specific needs.

Though occurring in an activity-based environment, primary therapeutic benefits will be derived from a solidly cognitive-behavioral approach. Treatment planning, confidentiality, and high ethical standards will be a part of everything we do. 

The Workshop will offer opportunities for true soul care through a range of options from the very casual to more structured traditional therapeutic settings.

 

We are currently accepting donations of all kinds. If we do not have a need for your donated item we will either sell it in order to fund other needs or donate it to another charitable organization.

We currently have specific needs for items in the following categories:
- Classic vehicles (pre 1980), parts, and tools
- Woodworking tools and supplies
- Art supplies
- Billiards, darts, foosball equipment
- Video gaming equipment
- Audio visual equipment
- Board games
- Coffee maker, refrigerator, and refreshments
- White noise generators
- Direct funding for rent, utilities, and administrative costs
