THE WEST THEATER Needs A New Home

$170 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 10 people in 14 months
As most of our patrons know by now, due to circumstances beyond our control, The West Theater is closed.  We are trying to move to a new location downtown however since this location has not been a theater in quite a few years (since 1947), there are quite a few costs involved.  We will need projection and sound equipment, a screen, seating and all concession equipment.

Those of you who patronized The West Theater, we would love to continue providing you with the entertainment you have grown used to seeing at our establishment.

Please find it in your hearts to donate any amount so that we may continue to serve you.

Sorry for the long delay in posting an update. Things are progressing, although somewhat slowly to be sure. Received the quote from the architect...another $5,000! I am attaching the budget I have worked out, it doesn't yet include the architects fees.

Once again, with all that is going on in the world right now with the devastating hurricanes, I know it can be hard. But if you could see your way clear to donate even $5.00 it would be a great help.

OK, meeting went well. At least we now know what we have to do. First step is to get an architect. Unfortunately that means more money, but it has to be done. Looking into one now, just waiting for him to give us a quote.

Lots of work ahead of us, but it is an exciting proposition. All we need now is the funds LOL.

Which brings us to our Go Fund Me. Hate to keep harping on it, but with the number of followers we have even as small as $5.00 each would put us well on our way. Visit the Go Fund Me at https://www.gofundme.com/the-west-theater-needs-a-new-home.

Just a small update. Trying to set a meeting with the city on September 12th to get all our "ducks in an order". Also setting an appointment with a furnace man to get some heat in the building as there is none right now :)

Hope to have a block diagram of what the interior will look like done within the next day or two. Will post that when it is finished.

This is looking to be our new home. The old Past Time Theater on Tusc in downtown Barberton. As you can see from the pictures, there is a whole lot of work to be done.

The next step is a meeting with the city to see what permits, etc. are needed. That should be happening in the next few weeks.

Please consider a donation to our Go Fund Me Campaign at https://www.gofundme.com/the-west-theater-needs-a-new-home.

As mentioned before, if each of our followers would donate only $5.00, we would be half way there in no time.

Will post more details/updates as they become known and available.
