The Background:
One year ago we released our single, Shutting Down TN (which you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XY3Sp9zQxiw ) and the success of that video sent us back into the studio to record new music. The initial plan was to release our third 5 song EP showcasing Shutting Down TN, but the more new music we wrote the more we realized this was a chance to create our first full-length, 10 song album.
Go Big or Go Home:
To date we have spent 4 weekends in the studio. We began tracking in August of 2018 and, as of the end of January, we have finished recording 9 brand new songs. We never thought we would ever release a full-length album, but the response to Shutting Down TN and the reception of this new music at shows convinced us we needed to think BIGGER!
Bigger means that, instead of just mixing the tracks to an acceptable level and distributing CDs locally, we are taking a few steps that will stretch and challenge us in ways that are exciting and intimidating. Here is a peek at what we have planned for this album:
1. It will be professionally mastered for digital and vinyl release
2. We are releasing it digitally, on CD, and on vinyl
3. We are working with an individual who will have it distributed to radio stations with professional distribution packaging
4. We are looking at hiring a booking agency
5. We will be on the road promoting this album - a lot
For the sake of complete transparency, none of us receives a cent from the band. Everything we have made by performing goes back into the music and allows us to pay for some of what is listed above, but not all of it. Every member of the band has a full time job well into their careers and we cannot sell the farm just yet. For now we will be weekend warriors playing anywhere that opens their doors to promote this new album as well as using vacation time to squeeze in a one or two week tour here and there. The reality is, in order to take the next step in the maturation of our band, we need a little help.
How You Can Help:
We don't want to ask for money without offering something beyond our undying love and gratitude, so we have created levels of support that all come with perks and merch detailed below:
1. For $15 you will receive a signed CD*
2. For $25 you will receive a signed CD* AND a concert t-Shirt
3. For $30 you will receive a signed Vinyl**
4. For $50 and up you will receive a signed Vinyl** AND a limited edition t-shirt only available here
Our goal is to reach $8,500 which will cover Go Fund Me fees and album related expenses; any money raised up to or beyond that will be used only for band related costs. We also have several shows coming up which have the potential to provide additional funds for the campaign which we will reflect by subtracting money we make from the overall goal. (Thus far, as of April 23, we have been able to subtract just over $2000 from the goal due to payment for shows in March and April of 2019). The chart below lays out the expected expenses of which we are aware and is based upon recent conversations and research; these are estimations.
*CDs are finished! Mailings will begin in the 2nd week of July!
**Vinyls are slated to be completed within the first two weeks of August. Mailings will begin shortly after we receive the vinyls; no later than the end of August.
