The Shame of the Meek
Donation protected
We are looking for funding to suport a public production of a play I wrote called The Shame of the Meek. The play is based on true stories of Island women in the 1900s who were forced or coerced to relinquish their babies for adoption.
This is very timely and relevant as stories similar to these are breaking internationally and the issue will be tabled in the fall as to whether or not to open adoption records on PEI.
The production will take place in Charlottetown, at The Guild, if possible. Any tiny amount is appreciated. Your help will allow us to go forward with rehearsals and rewrites and pay the cast as well as the mothers whose true stories are told through the actors. Donations may also be used to cover script printing costs and other little items that mount up during production and pre-production.
