It's all about the look on the mother's face when she participated in our Stewards of Children training and was told she could make the decision about who would have access to her body. When we told her that her children had the right to choose to whom they showed affection and who could be "in their space". She cried and said, "No one has ever told me that before. No one." It was a revelation for her.
It's all about the parents who exchange looks when they're eating s'mores that have been cooked in a hot car to demonstrate the dangers of leaving a child alone in a hot car.
Our new video, Saving Tomorrow, is on Youtube! It is directed at those in the audience who may have been affected by child abuse or neglect. It is to let them know they are not alone, there are people who care and give them an idea of who they can talk to. We need your support to keep our doors open and to keep providing educational materials and prevention training throughout the county. We are about to start an exciting partnership with the ministeries of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Cherryville, NC to reach out to the western half of Gaston County. Our plan is to do the same in Gastonia and in Belmont. We cannot do this without your donations. Please help us reach our goal of $10,000.00. Every donation is appreciated no matter what size.
Prevent Child Abuse Gaston provides training, education and information about all these issues. And, the community trusts us. We're here because we care not because we are drawing a paycheck. We are trained Facilitators of Stewards of Children. Many of us have backgrounds of working in child welfare and we participate in several collaborative committees across the county.
For every $10.00 donated we can provide a rack card display to an agency with information on the Safe Surrender Law, Safe Sleeping for Infants, Safe Cars, Safe Water Supervision, Anti-Bullying for Young Children, Child Sexual Abuse Prevention and Gun Safety.
For every $100.00 donated we can train 5 parents in Stewards of Children, a nationally recognized, evidence based training on child abuse prevention.
For every $500.00 donated we can provide 20 Meet Me on the Playground for Elementary School Age Children anti-bullying kits for teachers.
For every $1000.00 donated we can train 68 parents in child abuse prevention including teaching them how to talk to their children about child sexual abuse, healthy touches, sexual exploitation online and human sex trafficking.
Every dollar donated to our Go Fund Me campaign will be used to protect children right here in Gaston County. Please give today!
