The Old Kingdom Book Campaign

£320 of £2,000 goal

Raised by 18 people in 7 months
Hello friends!

My name is Jamale Ijouiher and I'm a graduate of Liverpool John Moores university with a degree in Palaeobiology and Evolution, and have become something of an expert on Mesozoic African biota after a decade of research.

Once Africa was once referred to as the ''Lost World of the dinosaur era'', so poorly represented were its flora and fauna; now the twenty first century has ushered in a golden age in the field of palaeontology, and I think it’s about time Africa began reaping the benefits.

So, as member in good standing with Palaeontological Association & the British Society of Authors, I've decided to try and publish my research as a text book: The Old Kingdom - the Palaeontology & Palaeoecology of Cenomanian North Africa.

The Old Kingdom is unique in that no other text book, written solely on this topic, has ever been published before and is long overdue.

Containing the latest information, yet presented in an informal tone, I hope the Old Kingdom will be used as a source of information for both scientists and laypersons interested in African dinosaurs and their world for years to come.

And now it appears that I may finally get my chance to make that ambition a reality as Indiana University Press has agreed to publish my book.

I’m so close, and yet so far. Because while I've commissioned some of the best artists in the field such as Christopher DiPiazza, Joschua Knüppe, Andrey Atuchin and James McKay (who's rough draft for the cover graces the top of the page); artwork does not come cheap.

While I've paid of the bulk of the outstanding debt to these artists already, there is still a considerable amount of money still left outstanding.

If you are able to donate anything, to help me it would be greatly appreciated.  You'll not only be helping me move my career forward, but you'll be helping me realise a goal.

This book has been a labour of love, I’ve been working, nonstop, on it since 2009; it’s my life’s work.

Please help me make this one dream a reality.

Best Wishes,
Jamale

Hello friends,

I offer my gratitude to those of you who have already donated, thanks to you the campaign is well underway.

Now, thanks to my friend and artist Christopher DiPiazza, we can take it to the next level.

Now those donate a certain amount - £50 or £70 - will be rewarded with an original, signed, piece of artwork by Chris!

A scientifically accurate rendition of your favourite dinosaur (or any other prehistoric animal) drawn and send to you.

This is a fantastic opportunity.

Best Wishes,
Jamale
