About The Mower Shed
The Mower Shed was established in December 2016 and has so far employed 18 people.
The Mower Shed provides garden maintenance, rubbish removal and gutter cleaning services through corporate contracts and services to individual households.
The Mower Shed has two different levels of being a social enterprise:
1. The first is that we employ people who find it hard to gain and maintain employment, whether that is as a result of ability, mental health issues or long term unemployment.
2. The second is that we provide services at full cost, subsidised cost and free, depending on the need of the client. Free and subsidised cost services mean that people in our community can maintain their yards as safe, enjoyable spaces in the face of physical or financial constraints. This increases enjoyment of their home spaces and improves neighbourhood relationships.
The Mower Shed also means that not everyone needs to own all the gardening equipment – we will hire or loan equipment to those who are able to do their own garden maintenance.
