The Man Down Challenge

On the 28th November 2018 Luke Griffin was sadly killed in Afghanistan. He was a close protection office for G4S and performed his role like a true professional. On that fateful night Taliban fighters detonated an explosive device at the G4S compound gates. Luke and his fellow colleagues rushed to their posts to suppress the enemy. Unfortunately Luke paid the ultimate price and was shot. He died a true warrior the way he would of wanted.
Luke leaves behind a grieving Partner Helen and his son Tommy along with the rest of his loving family.
Luke and i had planned to climb 8 mountains and peaks this year but sadly our trip will never happen!
The Charity i have chosen is the Rock2Recovery Charity. They seeks out distressed veterans proactively, and affected family members, within our community through many lines of communication including social media and word of mouth!

That being said i have decided that i will still complete our planned trips over 8 days carrying his weight in the form of a stone block weighing 104kgs (Luke's weight) with his name on metal cross to the summit of 8 mountains and peaks and leave it at the top so that one day when he's old enough Tommy can visit his dad on the top of the mountains
The mountains are:-
Ben Nevis, Snowdon, Helvellyn, Ingleborough, Whernside, Pen-Y.Ghent, Tryfan and Scarfell Pike.
