The Kara Foundation

Friday night, April 28, Kara Healy had a stroke and was recently taken off life support and passed away.  She had AVM, an abnormal connection between arteries and veins, usually in the brain or spine. She donated her organs to 9 different people. She is going to be able to live on through others and all the memories that we have of her. 

She was an incredible human being. As a sophomore in high school, she was amazingly smart and was a friend to all. She made an impact to everyone she met. I know this because this is coming from the perspective of someone who has not seen her or spoken to her in many years. She and I used to go to elementary school together, 5 years ago. She always had her nose in a book and a smile for everyone. She was sweet, caring, and had so many friends that cared about her. She contributed so much to everyone she met by just a glance.

Her passing has affected many of us in the community. Me and many of her friends from elementary school are coming together to raise money for the expenses of her services and to pay her family's bills so her parents can take off time from work to grieve together.  If anyone wants to help out to this cause, please donate as much as you can in order to alleviate some stress in this sensitive time.  Although no one is able to relieve her family from this tragic event, the most we can do is allow them to be together.
